Bio

Derek Pleasants is a Partner at Bravo Victor Venture Capital where he helps build the institutional foundation that enables the firm to identify, support, and scale companies advancing the future of national security.

Before joining BVVC, Derek spent nearly a decade advising venture capital and alternative investment managers on fund operations, administration, and organizational growth. He most recently led the venture capital fund administration practice in the Chicago office of Standish Management, where he worked with emerging and established investment firms navigating periods of growth, fundraising, and increasing complexity.

Today, Derek oversees the development of BVVC’s operational infrastructure and plays a leading role in the firm’s fundraising and investor engagement efforts. He works closely with current and prospective limited partners to communicate BVVC’s vision, cultivate long-term partnerships, and advance the firm’s capital formation strategy. His experience across fund operations, investor relations, and organizational scale gives him a distinct perspective on what it takes to build enduring investment platforms.

Derek holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the University of Washington.
