Bio
George Hogg is a William H. McRaven National Security Fellow with Bravo Victor Venture Capital (BV), where he learns and advises on Portfolio Operations and School.House, the fund’s invite-only platform experience dedicated to national security founders.
George is a U.S. Army officer with 15 years of service across Infantry, Space Operations, the 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), and U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). He has operated at the intersection of special operations, space, cyber, electronic warfare, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology, translating complex technical capabilities into practical solutions for high-risk operational environments. George pioneered the first space operations program within the 75th Ranger Regiment and later served as the first Space Operations Officer assigned to JSOC and USASOC, integrating space-based intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, communications, and multi-domain capabilities into global special operations missions.
Throughout his career, George has built first-of-their-kind capabilities by aligning operators, senior leaders, government organizations, research institutions, and commercial technology partners around real mission requirements. He has led cross-functional teams of technical professionals, managed annual capability portfolios exceeding $20 million, and directed more than $10 million in research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts across unclassified and sensitive environments. His work has included small spacecraft, high-altitude platforms, unmanned systems, electronic warfare, cyber capabilities, resilient communications, and advanced sensing. He has also established government-industry partnerships and cooperative research agreements designed to accelerate experimentation and move emerging technology toward operational use.
George brings a systems-minded approach to venture capital, combining technical depth, operational judgment, and an understanding of how incentives, organizations, and acquisition processes shape whether technology reaches the field. He is focused on supporting mission-first founders, identifying technologies with genuine operational relevance, and closing the gap between venture-backed innovation and the capabilities needed by U.S. service members and allies. He holds a Master of Science in Space Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbus State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Geographic Information Systems from Virginia Tech.
