As a first hire at nCino, employee number 5, Josh has intimate experience with the lifecycle of a startup—from early-stage financing challenges, leadership, and team building to scaling and leading in its market. This insight has proven critical in understanding startups’ hurdles and providing practical, empathetic advice and mentorship to our founder/CEOs. Josh is a decorated combat veteran who led Marines through four deployments (Iraq and Afghanistan) and whose awards include the Silver Star Medal, the Bronze Star Medal for valor, and three Purple Heart Medals. He is also a Board member of The Marine Raider Foundation. This non-profit provides benevolent support to the Marines, Sailors, and families of Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command.

Josh is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
