William H. McRaven National Security Fellow

Bio

Rori is a William H. McRaven National Security Fellow with Bravo Victor Venture Capital(BV), where he learns and advises on Portfolio Operations and School House, the fund’s invite-only platform experience dedicated to national security founders.

Rori recently completed his MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, with concentrations in Finance and Artificial Intelligence for Business, and holds a master’s degree in security studies from American University focused on U.S.–Russian relations. He paired that education with venture training before leaving the service: as a Nomadic Venture Fellow, he sourced early-stage companies, conducted technical and investment diligence, engaged founders, and prepared the memoranda behind pre-seed and seed decisions.

Rori served two decades across the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. He began as a Marine engineer and intelligence officer, then served as an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer before joining Special Forces, where he commanded an Operational Detachment–Alpha and later a Special Forces company. He also advised Headquarters, Department of the Army on Army National Guard Special Forces matters from the Pentagon. Most recently, as Director of Innovation for the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), he led force modernization and worked with MIT Lincoln Laboratory and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory to develop new technology for special operations. His deployments include Afghanistan, Niger, Peru, Brazil, and Latvia.

Rori holds bachelor’s degrees in History and German from Arizona State University and maintains Russian, German, and Spanish language capability. Drawing on operational command, force modernization, and an understanding of how requirements move through the special operations acquisition enterprise, Rori is focused on helping the companies BV backs reach the operators who need them.
