Bio

Tyler Bayliss is a William H. McRaven National Security Fellow at Bravo Victor Venture Capital (BV), where he supports Portfolio Operations and contributes to School.House, BV’s invitation-only founder platform focused on advancing national security innovation.

Tyler is concluding a 22-year career as a U.S. Army Warrant Officer, most recently assigned to U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) as a Team Leader operating in classified, high-threat environments. In these roles, he delivered actionable intelligence supporting threat assessments, targeting operations, and mission planning. Previously, he served in 3rd Special Forces Group and 20th Special Forces Group, leading the training, employment, and operational coordination of 12-person detachments alongside more than 20 host-nation Special Operations units and U.S. Government partners, contributing to mission success across the Middle East and Northwest Africa.

Throughout his career, Tyler led the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies into combat operations and nontraditional deployments, accelerating capability adoption in dynamic environments. He consistently translated operational requirements into technical solutions, rapidly fielding tools that strengthened intelligence collection, force protection, communications, and mission execution.

At BV, he applies this operational lens to investment evaluation and portfolio support, aligning frontline mission needs with venture-backed technologies. His work centers on assessing real-world utility, scalability, and strategic advantage, with a focus on reinforcing the technological edge of the United States and its allies in an increasingly contested security landscape.
